The name Lulama is an isiXhosa name which is a combination of two words - “lula” which means “easy” and “ama” which means “possession”. In isiXhosa culture the name Lulama often reflects the hopes and aspirations of the parents for their child to have a life characterized by ease, abundance and success. It also means “to be humble.” If you seek further, in the Kabalarian philosophy it means to seek change, to seek travel, new opportunities and new challenges. Lulama is a real example of our South African rainbow nation. As the child of an isiXhosa mother and a white father, she challenges us to think beyond tradition. A joyful spirit, to those who know her she is often called “the laughing one”.
